Solano County’s main government and business capital Fairfield has too much commercial space for rent. It was around 15.6% in the 4th quarter of 2010; increasing from maybe 14.9% the previous quarter.
Vacaville which is primarily a bedroom community with nice retail and dining spaces for rent is at around 20.9% - it was about 21%.
People believe the vacancy rate for commercial Solano real estate is healthy when it is below 4%. Solano is over built with too much commercial real estate available for lease.
