New Affordable Housing
Vacaville City Council may approve a disposition, development and loan agreement with Solano-Napa Habitat for Humanity. Cheap housing on city property at Scroggins Court and East Monte Vista Avenue is the possibility. Some people don’t want it at that location. Some voters say they work hard to pay taxes and why would they be supporting people in Vacaville who may not be working as many hours a week as they do. But everyone does not have equal opportunity say those seeking tax dollars for cheaper housing. That debate continues for ever.
As currently proposed, there would be nine parcels featuring 14 rental space. The lucky buyers may purchase the real estate home investments below 80% of the Vacaville area median income.
